Although not as popular as his first Christmas album, the aptly named Elvis’ Christmas Album, The Wonderful World of Christmas did go Platinum in 1999. Heck, I’d take a platinum selling album any day.
“If I Get Home For Christmas Day” was written by Tony Macaulay, who also wrote the hits “Build Me Up Buttercup” and “Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes).”
This is one of the best Christmas songs out there. Elvis. The holidays. A twinge of sadness. Now that’s a Christmas song.

I love Christmas music. I’m all for Bing Crosby and Burl Ives, but my tastes lean towards the more offbeat Christmas Songs. I think they make for a superb Christmas play list. Put them on yours. You won’t be sorry.
